On Thursday, I set up down on the boardwalk at North Division Street and captured some of the images you will see below.  The weather wasn't the best and it seemed that there was less cars entered in the parade on Thursday than normally but I'm sure that the weather played a big part.  Additionally, the roads are still being worked on and chances are that that might of played a little bit on why there weren't as many hot rods in town.  I would imagine, weather permitting, that on Friday there will be a significant more amount of traffic and a ton more cars in the car shows.

If you want to see all of the images, head on over to our Earl Campbell Photography Facebook page.  Each year you can catch the car show parade in the mornings on the boardwalk and weather permitting, it always turns out to be a really cool thing to watch.

2018 Springfest in Ocean City, Maryland https://www.earlcampbellphotography.com/blog/2018/5/2018-springfest-in-ocean-city-maryland The 2018 Springfest is underway in Ocean City, Maryland at the Inlet Parking Lot. The festivities run from Thursday, May 3 until Sunday, May 6 in the big tents at the south end of town.  This year, the organizers of the event have put together a nice lineup of acts, which will be held on either the outside stage or the inside stage.  Due to the fact that I had other events scheduled, I was only able to go to Springfest on Thursday this year.

My wife, my daughter and I all went and checked out Panama Rex Band for about 40 minutes at the outside stage.  The band was actually really good and their wasn't a open seat to be found at any of the picnic tables that the folks at Springfest set up for viewers.  The food this year was delicious as always.  Each year I like to try something different and this year, I tried the Gator bites.  I have had gator bites before and just wanted to go back to try some more.  They were good, not great but good.  My wife had the fried vegetables and my daughter got fried pickle chips.  For the most part, we enjoyed it, no complaints.

2018 Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex Opening Day for Baseball & Softball https://www.earlcampbellphotography.com/blog/2018/4/2018-henry-s-parker-athletic-complex-opening-day-for-baseball-softball Yesterday, we were out at the Henry Parker Athletic Complex for their Opening Day festivities. Baseball and Softball teams from around the area took part in games on 8 fields at the complex.  The games started at around 4:00 PM ET after a brief discussion with Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver, Director Steve Miller and Recreation Superintendent James Simmons.  The trio talked about how over $3 million dollars was invested into these fields to give the local kids, as well as adult leagues, a place to play baseball and softball.

The fields themselves are amazing!  Growing up in Balimore and playing baseball my entire childhood, we never had fields like this to play our games on so it is great to see the folks at Wicomico County making it an option to play games on such amazing fields.  The fields are set up for both baseball and softball and provide the players with a real feel for what it is like to play on upgraded fields.

One thing I learned immediately was the difference in size between the baseball and softball.  The baseball images turned out great, while the softball I felt like I was a mile away and for whatever reason, the softball coaches always seemed to be right smack dab where I would position my camera.  That being said, we still had a blast out there yesterday and snapped off some decent shots.

2018 Ocean City St. Patrick's Day Parade https://www.earlcampbellphotography.com/blog/2018/3/2018-ocean-city-st-patricks-day-parade Yesterday I headed out to Ocean City, Maryland for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade hosted by the Delmarva Irish-American Club.  The parade started at around noon and the festival ran from about 11:00 AM until around 3:00 PM ET.  The parade started around 60th street and ended at the festival, which was inside the 45th street Village Shopping Center.  Ever since I was a Police Officer in Ocean City, this parade has always been one of the most heavily attended events of the year and even this year with the temperatures dipping down around 30 degrees, there were people spread out all along the parade route, enjoying the festivities of the Ocean City St. Patrick's Day Parade.

This year, there were parade attendees from as far away as New York and it seemed to last a lot longer than other years.  I set up at 54th street and was surrounded by a bunch of children, that I think loved the candy and souvenirs more than anything else. The kids are what make the parades in Ocean City so much fun to be at.  The group seated next to me enjoyed the chocolate coins, while the mom's loved the hair products and sunscreen that were given out towards the end.

Below you will find several images from the event.  You can find the rest of the images over on our Earl Campbell Photography Facebook.  Please make sure you are following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat pages.  Please take a minute to like our pages and share the images with your friends and family!
